Harvest Time

The fruits of the past always ripen so beautifully as they move further away from us. It's funny how they didn't seem quite ripe enough when we were there. Somehow, they always seem sweeter and brighter in our memories.

As we get older, we begin to realize this cruel trick that life plays on us. We understand that if we slow down enough and pay attention in the moment, we can see the fruit ripen in front of us.

Aging makes everything matter more; the meaning of "now" becomes the most important thing. We get it — we pay attention more. We slow down just enough to truly embrace life and relish in its wonder.

We realize it is only in the now that we get to harvest the crop we've tended for so long. Only in the moment, we are able to fully enjoy the fruits of our labor and truly become one with all that is our life.
