Strings
Jul 11, 2026
If we removed the strings attached to us, what would we find? We're born without any strings attached, but as we grow, we begin to collect strings. First, it's the ones that others tie to us, our parents, teachers, friends, and society. They pull on the strings to make us conform, make us fit in, become their vision of success. In the early stages of life, we look like a puppet, bound by strings we never agreed to carry.
Later we begin adding our own strings to ourselves. We add financial strings, ideal body strings, relationship strings. Before we know it, we are so bound up, it's hard to even move. We become helpless with all the constraints we unknowingly tie to ourselves. When this happens the light of our free spirit begins to dim.
It's so important to manage the strings and cut off the ones that no longer serve us. If you look carefully, you will find many that aren't even attached to anything. Cut loose the strings of obligation, let go of the "I'm not good enough", and the, "I should do more" strings. Those usually are the ones that hinder us the most.
Not all strings are bad, some can lift us up and make our lives easier. The goal is to take back control and cut the strings that are holding us down. Leave only the strings that are supportive and held by the people we love. Allow only those that are attached to our dreams. The ones that are tied to our soul. The ones that allow our spirit to shine brilliantly as it was always intended to be.
